I can't bear to type this, but Florent is really closing.

Honestly, I don't want to live in a Manhattan without Florent. And I'm not going to. Tonight I signed the lease on my new two-bedroom flat in Brooklyn. Yes, that's right, kids, after 15 years of Manhattan-Centrist-Pig-isms, I'm gonna start acting my age and move to the Broken Land. And when I say acting my age, I really mean acting my Adge, as the place I'm moving into is Adrienne's old apartment. The timing was right, the rent was right, and since I know both the apartment and its 'hood, I knew I would be happy there. I move in four weeks. You'll be hearing lots about it.

Anyway, Florent's rent was going from $6K to $50K/month. But you know, that's what New York is gonna be so long as we have a municipal government like Mr. Bloomberg's. All development all the time. Money before charm. Disney and Starbucks before the locals. So there it is, no more late night moules frites accompanied by perfect music, the rich and famous, and drugged-out tranny hookers from 10th Ave. Okay, so the hookers haven't been around for a while. But still, where the hell are we all going to go now when we need to feel like rock stars?!

Brooklyn, I guess. Here I come.
