The groundhog saw his shadow, so I guess we've got more winter ahead. That makes me happy. The Internet’s abuzz with chatter about the demise of Florent--something about a revolution of bankers holding Manhattan hostage. Don't know all the details yet, but if Florent closes I'll blame Bloomberg. The New York Times reviewed Alex Hubbard’s Show at Nicole Klagsbrun. Alex was my intern at ICP about 400 years ago. Now he's a friend, and an art sensation! Speaking of art, a bunch of us went to the new New Museum today. Bleh. Bad building, bad art, no surprise. The building is fabulous from the outside, and is a nice addition to the Bowery, but the fluorescent-lit galleries inside are a disaster. Doesn't matter though since the art is so bad it doesn't need a decent home. Have you ever seen Saturday Night and Sunday Morning? Good lord Albert Finney is terrific--tough and dark and troubled and sexy and smart with a gleam in his eye.
