Nothing Has Changed, posted September 11, 2006 at 06:29 PM

Nothing has changed since last year's 4th anniversary of the Tragic Events. There's still a hole in the ground, there's still a cabal of dangerous criminals running the country, and I'm still at my desk six blocks north of the WTC. Forgive me for not indulging in this year's nostalgic and misguided flag-waving, but frankly, I'd like to forget the nightmare that began that morning, not keep remembering. But forgetting it will require it ending--and with more US troops killed in our failed follow-up to 9/11/01 than Americans killed in the actual attack, not to mention the tens of thousands of civilians in other countries killed in this mess--and it seems we're not anywhere near a waking point. Better to leave me to my bitter anger and go read last year's more humanistic acknowledgment of the day. Nothing's changed.
