And now for something new, posted August 27, 2006 at 08:53 PM

It's pretty obvious to anyone and everyone who has a calendar, a watch, or even a pulse, that this summer has drained me of my willingness to update this site with any frequency. I'm averaging one entry per month at this point.

Part of it is that the wind has gone out of my sails a bit, as Marco has declared his intention to stop updating altogether. He's delivered a new story which I have yet to post for him, and he's promised one more and no more after that. Please, dear readers, send him some love and let's hope he changes his mind.

The bigger problem for me is that which many writers face: the combination of lack of time and the fear of facing the blank page. My intention when starting this site was that I would focus on culture, as I partake of NYC's cultural offerings quite a bit. The site was set up with a single-entry per page format, rather than a standard blog format where the entries stack up for a week or a month at a time, filling the site with verbiage. So each time I come here I'm facing a blank page and feel I'm required to write enough to fill it.

Well no more. I've reconfigured the guts of this thing to allow me to share in the wonderous multi-entry blog fomat that every other blog uses. I will now attempt to make the site a bit more personal, and a bit more frequently updated. I like the idea of being able to post a quick thought, or a quick link, as a simple entry whenever I want--even in the middle of my hectic work days. I think if I take the pressure off of myself to update with long cohesive entries, I'll write more, I'll write more often, and I'll write better. So stay tuned and let's see what happens....

(NOTE: if you've bookmarked me, it's now "blog.davidzaza.com" instead of "diary.davidzaza.com".)
